Swedish music gets its own Hall of Fame
American Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is an institution. Starting next year elected 10-15 Swedish musicians, artists, songwriters, producers and others who have had significant influence on the Swedish popular music into the Swedish equivalent, English Music Hall of Fame.
The newly appointed jury included Kersti Adams-Ray, journalist, Per Sinding-Larsen, music journalist and presenter and Amethyst Azordegan, a music journalist, TV host and columnist. Chairman of the jury is Jan Gradvall, also a music journalist.
To be inducted into the Hall of Fame artist must have the record debuted at least 20 years before. In American Rock and roll hall of fame needed mad radio gr it 25 years. "The long-term purpose of the Hall of Fame is to pay homage to those who laid the foundation of Swedish popular music and inspires innovation and development in the music," writes English Music Hall of Fame on its website. The museum on Djurgården in Stockholm also housed ABBA the Museum mad radio gr ABBA - The Museum.
- In January we announce who will be elected and a ceremony with a tribute concert of contemporary musicians come in late March. But one should mad radio gr not expect the resurrection of the band, says Charlotte Wiking, president of English music hall of fame to SvD.
